Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) is a biodegradable biopolymer from the PHAs family that has potential to replace conventional plastics and reduce plastic pollution. However, PHBV has thermo-sealability issues, making it challenging to use for bags. Blending it with polycaprolactone (PCL) could address this but may alter the barrier properties of the films, affecting their effectiveness as food packaging material.

The aim of our study was to describe the clinicopathological features of CADM and assess the differences between amyopathic dermatomyositis (ADM) and hypomyopathic dermatomyositis (HDM).
Methods: This retrospective study included 43 patients with CADM diagnosed at our institution from 2016 to 2020.
Background: With the global increase of cesarean deliveries, breech presentation is the third indication for elective cesarean delivery. Implementation of external cephalic version (ECV), in which the position of the baby is manipulated externally to prevent breech presentation at term, remains suboptimal. Increasing knowledge for caretakers and patients is beneficial in the uptake of ECV implementation.

PHBV films incorporating 3, 6 and 9% ferulic acid (FA) or p-coumaric acid (PCA) were obtained by melt blending and compression moulding. The films' microstructures and thermal behaviours were analysed as well as their mechanical, optical and barrier properties. The overall and specific migration of the materials in different food simulants was also characterised.
