Transverse sinus dural fistula: combined surgical and endovascular approach: a case report.

Background: The treatment of a large dural sinus fistula can be very difficult and complicated. The very extensive and complex nature of these malformations may require a combination therapy in the form of surgery and multistaged embolization. The transverse sinus fistula in our patient was fed by multiple large high-flow feeders and was draining retrograde into the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) and the cortical veins.

Intracranial chondroma arising from the cranial vault: CT and MR appearance.

A case of intracranial chondroma arising from the right parietal bone in a 37-year-old woman is presented. CT and MRI findings as well as the differential diagnosis of the lesion are discussed.

Use of transcranial cerebral oximetry to monitor regional cerebral oxygen saturation during neuroendovascular procedures.

Using transcranial cerebral oximetry, we monitored 30 patients who underwent cerebral angiography by the femoral route. Transcranial cerebral oximetry is a noninvasive technique of regional cerebral oxygen saturation measurement that uses near-infrared spectroscopy to differentiate oxyhemoglobin from reduced hemoglobin. Needle puncture, catheterization, and contrast media injection produced no significant peak changes in saturation from baseline.

CT, MRI, and angiographic findings of a highly aggressive malignant meningioma. A case report.

A case is presented of a highly aggressive malignant meningioma with its associated imaging findings. The case report is followed by a brief review of recognized findings of malignant meningiomas versus their benign counterparts and the accuracy of such findings in differentiating malignant from benign meningiomas.

Spinal cord compression from a thoracic paraganglioma: case report.

A 34-year-old man with a 4-month history of midthoracic back pain sought treatment for a recent onset of lower extremity paresthesia and stiffness. A myelogram and computed tomographic myelogram disclosed an extradural block at the level of the 8th thoracic vertebral body with involvement of the pedicles, lamina, and spinous process. A posterior decompression of the spinal cord with subtotal resection of a highly vascular tumor was performed.
