Upadacitinib Was Administered as a Sequential Salvage Therapy for Acute Severe Ulcerative Colitis: A Case Report.

Introduction: Acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) represents a medical emergency associated with high mortality and morbidity. While corticosteroids are the primary treatment, cases that are unresponsive often require rescue therapy with either infliximab or cyclosporine to reduce the rate of colectomy. Janus kinase inhibitors, such as tofacitinib and upadacitinib, are a highly efficacious therapy with rapid induction of clinical response in moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC).

Development and feasibility study of a Culturally Tailored Asthma intervention using a mixed-method approach at the primary school level in Malaysia: Challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Introduction: The World Health Organization recommends incorporating asthma programmes into national school health services, although this recommendation is rarely implemented.

Methods: In Malaysia, we developed a multi-level primary school asthma programme incorporating educational sessions for children with asthma and their parents, raising awareness within the whole school community and training school staff to provide first-aid asthma management. The programme was adapted for delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a mixed-method feasibility study was conducted in October 2020.

Sun Glint-Aware Restoration (SUGAR): a robust sun glint correction algorithm for UAV imagery to enhance monitoring of turbid coastal environments.

Sun glint contamination on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) imagery is a ubiquitous problem and poses a significant impediment in the retrieval of water quality parameters for coastal monitoring applications. Previous studies using near-infrared (NIR) and regression-based sun glint corrections have shown overcorrection at turbid regions as water-leaving NIR radiance is non-negligible. A spatial shift in the band channels would also result in suboptimal correction in the visible spectrum.

Is mesh related morbidity the real thread in ventral rectopexy? Results of a retrospective international multicentre comparative analysis of biologic versus synthetic mesh.

Aim: Ventral mesh rectopexy (VMR) is an established surgical treatment for rectal prolapse and outlet obstruction. In contrast to continental Europe, in the UK and US the use of synthetic mesh has been abandoned in favour of biologic mesh, due to concerns regarding mesh related morbidity. The current study investigated if either material is superior, in terms of clinical recurrence and mesh related complications.
