Cereus jamacaru DC. occurs in the central-eastern region of Brazil and is among the best-known cacti in the country. Its phytochemical properties and fruits hold great significance to the local communities.

Amazonian Invertebrates in the Traditional diet of the Paiter Suruí in Southeastern Brazil.

The Paiter Suruí people in the southwestern Brazilian Amazon have a complex food system that includes insects and crustaceans. We designed our study to systematize data about the invertebrates they incorporate into their traditional diet. After conducting a review of the literature, we verified and expanded the data through semi-structured interviews with Paiter Suruí volunteers, and traced trends in their consumption of invertebrates.

The scientific literature on bats (chiroptera) in Brazil: a scientometric analysis from 1954 - 2018.

Globally, bats are of interest in many studies, beyond their ecological or epidemiological relevance or even the ecomorphological diversity of species. In Brazil, most of the indexed studies on chiropterans date from 1954, with a slow and heterogeneous progress in the publication increasing. The aim of this study was to analyze the literature on bats in Brazil, identifying patterns, tendencies and knowledge gaps in the Brazilian federal states.

Fishermen's knowledge and conservation attitudes: focus on the great cormorant (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Minho River, Portugal.

Unlabelled: Considerate the attitudes of traditional communities and their local ecological knowledge (LEK) can contribute to better policymaking and more appropriate management plans. Thus, this study strived to share the Minho River's fishermen LEK about great cormorant (Linnaeus, 1758), as well as it exposes their conservation attitudes towards this species. We described and analysed interviewees' LEK qualitatively, while their attitudes were analysed quantitatively through correlation with variables from fishermen's profile.
