[On certain aspects of chronic purulent otitis media].

The author reviews some etiological, pathogenetic aspects of OMPC, methods of diagnosis. Most effective surgical methods in epitympanitis are outlined, causes of relapsing purulent process in the middle ear following surgical interventions are analysed.

[Characteristics of postoperative period in surgical treatment of chronic frontal sinusitis].

During the last 5 years 132 patients underwent frontal-ethmoidal trepanation. Recurrences were observed in 27 (20%) patients with nonspecific immune deficiency, frequent respiratory viral infections and microbial virulence. The major cause of recurrences was inadequacy of the frontal-nasal ostium.
