Surgeons' opinions and concerns regarding prophylactic mesh placement when conducting a permanent ileo- and colostomy A survey among 172 surgeons in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Background: Prophylactic mesh placement when creating a permanent colostomy was recommended by the 2017 European Hernia Society guidelines on the prevention and treatment of parastomal hernias (GPTPH2017). The extent of this recommendation is under debate based on the long-term data from clinical trials. Our aim was to conduct a survey of surgeons revealing perspectives and concerns regarding GPTPH2017 and to discuss their concerns.

HeRO graft-The results of the cologne single center study.

Objective: The HeRO graft is a technique for vascular access in patients with limited treatment options; however, the published results with the HeRO graft are diverging. We therefore conducted a single-center study.

Methods: Patient records between July 2014 and February 2020 from Vascular Access Unit of the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of University Clinic of Cologne (Germany) were reviewed.

[Reconstruction of caval veins].

Objective: To study the possibilities and results of reconstruction of caval veins.

Material And Methods: We analyzed the results of reconstruction of caval veins in 31 patients (19 men and 12 women) including superior vena cava (SVC) in 5 cases and inferior vena cava (IVC) in 26 cases. Penetrating wounds with vascular damage were found in 8 patients.

[Endoleaks in endovacular infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. (Part II)].

Searching for literature data was performed in the PubMed, Scopus and eLIBRARY databases. In the second part, we considered modern classifications of endoleaks type 3, 4 and 5 after endovascular infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, etiology, risk factors, classification of endoleaks. Modern data on effectiveness of their treatment by various methods are presented.

Late Endograft Migration After Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Purpose: The objective of this systematic review was to report the cumulative incidence of endograft migration (EM), as well as the morbidity, reintervention rates, and mortality related to EM. This study aimed to provide evidence-based data on patient-relevant sequelae of EM after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) performed using contemporary aortic endografts.

Materials And Methods: A systematic electronic search of literature in MEDLINE (via PubMed), Web of Science, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials was performed.
