View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis study presents the development and validation of the Sexual Boredom Inventory (SBI), a 6-item measure assessing sexual boredom as a temporary, context-dependent state. Initial items were drafted from data obtained through qualitative analysis, and the SBI was tested using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with a sample of adults reporting on their sexual experiences in the past month. A single-factor model was found to be the best fit, with four items dropped during refinement.

- Stress is a significant trigger for seizures and can worsen epilepsy outcomes, increasing psychiatric and cognitive issues, as well as the risk of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP).
- The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis responds to stress, and its dysfunction has been shown to correlate with higher seizure frequency and behavioral problems in animal models.
- Early life stress (ELS), through a maternal separation model, alters the HPA axis and affects seizure susceptibility, with sex-dependent differences observed, particularly showing that females are more impacted by ELS in terms of epilepsy outcomes and mortality risk.
Background: Pediatric workforce shortages became more apparent with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the rise in other viruses. Among factors affecting these shortages are undergraduate and graduate curricula that include pediatric content and clinical experiences.
Method: A narrative review was conducted to examine the state of the pediatric nursing workforce, describe curricular models in undergraduate and graduate programs, and determine the effects of these models on pediatric content and clinical experiences as well as subsequent employment in pediatric nursing.
