Direct numerical simulation of three-dimensional acoustic turbulence has been performed for both weak and strong regimes. Within the weak turbulence, we demonstrate the existence of the Zakharov-Sagdeev spectrum ∝k^{-3/2} not only for weak dispersion but in the nondispersion (ND) case as well. Such spectra in the k space are accompanied by jets in the form of narrow cones.

Background: Pancreatic fibrosis is an early diagnostic feature of the common inherited disorder cystic fibrosis (CF). Many people with CF (pwCF) are pancreatic insufficient from birth and the replacement of acinar tissue with cystic lesions and fibrosis is a progressive phenotype that may later lead to diabetes. Little is known about the initiating events in the fibrotic process though it may be a sequela of inflammation in the pancreatic ducts resulting from loss of CFTR impairing normal fluid secretion.

The absorption of waves of the centimeter and millimeter wavebands in composites with Finemet alloy particles and carbon nanotubes has been studied. It has been established that ferromagnetic resonance and antiresonance are observed in such composites. A method is proposed for calculating the effective dynamic magnetic permeability of a composite containing both a random distribution of ferromagnetic particles and a part of the particles oriented in the same way.
