Objectives: In our institution, a unique sling technique is performed for urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy. However, in cases of severe urinary incontinence or in the medium to long term, the therapeutic effect may be insufficient. Therefore, a urethral sling technique that provides stronger compression of the bulbar urethra was developed, and its effectiveness was compared with the conventional technique.

A 64-year-old man was admitted to the hospital for RARP with a diagnosis of prostate cancer cT2aN0M0. At the start of RARP, a pseudo-urethra was formed by inserting a urethral catheter, so surgery was started with a transabdominal posterior approach without indwelling the urethral catheter.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: Prostatic stromal sarcoma is an extremely rare malignancy of the prostate with a poor prognosis.
Case Presentation: A 65-year-old man presented with dyschezia, and computed tomography showed a large prostate mass. The diagnosis was prostate stromal sarcoma by transrectal needle biopsy.
Rationale: Collecting duct carcinoma (CDC) is a rare type of nonclear renal cell carcinoma, often presenting at an advanced stage of the disease, and standard treatment guidelines have not been established.
Patient Concerns: A 73-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with complaints of fever and lower right back pain.
Diagnoses: Computed tomography revealed a poorly defined tumor of the right kidney without metastasis.
Background: The autosomal recessive form of pseudohypoaldosteronism type 1 (AR-PHA1) is caused by loss-of-function mutations in the epithelial sodium channel subunit genes and is characterized by a multisystemic and lifelong severe salt-wasting tendency. However, we observed a male AR-PHA1 patient who exhibited less frequent salt wasting with advancing age, despite the cessation of daily salt supplementation.
Objective: To elucidate the mechanism for the above phenomenon.
