PErsonalized TReatment for Endometrial Carcinoma (PETREC): study design and methods of a prospective Finnish multicenter trial.

Background: Endometrial carcinomas can be classified into four molecular subgroups - mismatch repair deficient (MMRd), p53 abnormal (p53abn), polymerase-ϵ () ultramutated, and 'no specific molecular profile' (NSMP). Retrospective data imply that the response to adjuvant therapies may depend on the molecular subgroup. These findings emphasize the need for adjuvant therapy trials where patients are randomized to treatment arms separately within each molecular subgroup.

Design of the SGML-based electronic patient record system with the use of object-oriented analysis methods.

Since a patient record is typically a document updated by many users, required to be represented in many different layouts, and transferred from place to place, it is a good candidate to be represented structured and coded using the SGML document standard. The use of the SGML requires that the structure of the document is defined in advance by a Document Type Definition (DTD) and the document follows it. This paper represents a method which derives an SGML DTD by starting from the description of the usage of the patient record in medical care and nursing.

Quantitative analysis of 99mTc-HMPAO kinetics in epilepsy.

A convection-diffusion model is applied for the determination of cerebral circulation parameters in patients with frontal lobe epilepsy. The method employs 99mTc-HMPAO, dynamic brain imaging and SPECT. The model takes into account both the capillary and cell permeabilities of HMPAO.
