Aim: To examine the existing situation, barriers and consequences of the intercultural communication in health institutions and to offer training models for strengthening and improving communication skills of health professionals in the Republic of Macedonia.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted to assess the relationship between patients and health professionals. A total of 813 health professionals (302 physicians and 511 other medical staff) from different healthcare institutions, and 1016 patients participated in cross-sectional survey performed in autumn 2010.
Unlabelled: The main objective of the study was to investigate the influence of peers on the main determinants of adolescents' sexual conduct in Macedonia, in order to identify both risk and protective factors.
Methodology: Data were obtained through a quantitative cross-sectional survey using a standardized paper-and-pencil self-administered questionnaire prepared for the WHO "Health Behaviour in School-aged Children" study. The study was conducted among 1226 secondary school students aged 15 and 17 (1st and 3rd year) from 10 different secondary schools in Macedonia.
Objective: To present the situation and burden of renal diseases and dialysis in the Republic of Macedonia in the period 1983-2007.
Methodology: A descriptive-statistical method has been applied with retrospective analysis of data for the period 1983-2007. Data from standard reports from ambulatory, dispensary and hospital services in the Republic of Macedonia, mortality statistics for the Republic of Macedonia, data from the World Health Organization and other professional literature and materials have been used.
