Replications are important for assessing the reliability of published findings. However, they are costly, and it is infeasible to replicate everything. Accurate, fast, lower-cost alternatives such as eliciting predictions could accelerate assessment for rapid policy implementation in a crisis and help guide a more efficient allocation of scarce replication resources.

Relative to other regions of the body, the ear has a high risk of developing cutaneous malignancies that often necessitate Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) for removal. This procedure can create defects that are immediately noticeable if left untreated. Reconstructive techniques are often needed to restore the appearance of the affected ear and its symmetrical relationship to the contralateral ear.

Latent variable modeling as a lens for psychometric theory is a popular tool for social scientists to examine measurement of constructs. Journals, such as regularly publish articles supporting measures of latent constructs wherein a measurement model is established. Confirmatory factor analysis can be used to investigate the replicability and generalizability of the measurement model in new samples, while multigroup confirmatory factor analysis is used to examine the measurement model across groups within samples.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted on B^{+} decays to explore resonant structures using data from the LHCb experiment at various energy levels, totaling an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}.
  • The researchers performed a simultaneous amplitude fit on two decay channels, determining the C parities of resonances in the D^{*±}D^{∓} mass spectra.
  • Four new charmonium or charmoniumlike states were discovered, including η_{c}(3945) and h_{c}(4000), and the presence of T_{c[over ¯]s[over ¯]0}^{*}(2870)^{0} and T_{c[over ¯]s
