zone B cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue type according to the Revised European American Lymphoma classification). Other mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue-type lymphomas arise in the salivary glands, thyroid gland, and in the lung (bronchus-associated lymphoid tissue). Here, we report the first case of a monoclonal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma with simultaneous manifestation in the colonic and bronchial mucosa in a 62-year-old patient.

A higher incidence of postoperative complications such as sternal infection in these patients is considered possible. Furthermore the question of whether mediastinal irradiation leads to a relevant internal thoracic artery (ITA) gaft damage remains unclear.

We investigated the expression of plakoglobin (a component of the cadherin-catenin adhesion system) in 94 samples of normal kidney tissue from patients with RCC, in 109 primary renal cell carcinomas and in 16 metastases by immunohistochemistry. Expression of plakoglobin was significantly diminished in tumor tissue, particularly in metastatic lesions, as compared to normal kidney tissue (p < 0.

The distribution pattern of renal organic osmolytes in surgically explanted human kidneys was investigated and compared with that of untreated Sprague-Dawley rats (Uosmo = 1186 mosmol/kg H2O). Sorbitol, myo-inositol, glycerophosphorylcholine and betaine were measured by liquid chromatography (HPLC) in homogenates of five different kidney zones from the cortex towards the papillary tip. All four organic osmolytes were detected as in human as in rat kidney.
