Investigating the effect of localized heat treatment and bioinspired structure on the crashworthiness of bumper subsystem.

Particularly when they occur at high speeds, vehicle accidents represent a serious threat to human beings and due to this fact vehicle accident is considered as worlds high priority risk. Several research have been done to enhance the crashworthiness of bumper subsystems. With an emphasis on the major crash management system components which are also known as crash box and bumper beam, this study explores ways to improve the crashworthiness of vehicles.

Assessment of abnormal liver function tests and associated factors among COVID-19-infected patients in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2022: a facility-based comparative cross-sectional study.

Objective: Liver function test (LFT) abnormalities are higher in patients with severe COVID-19. Most of the studies on this theme were conducted in foreign nations, and the association with LFT abnormalities was not sufficiently addressed in the study areas. Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the effects of COVID-19 infection on liver function of patients.

Inflammatory immune profiles associated with disease severity in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with moderate to severe clinical TB or anemia.

Background: Immune control of (Mtb) infection is largely influenced by the extensive disease heterogeneity that is typical for tuberculosis (TB). In this study, the peripheral inflammatory immune profile of different sub-groups of pulmonary TB patients was explored based on clinical disease severity, anemia of chronic disease, or the radiological extent of lung disease.

Methods: Plasma samples were obtained from n=107 patients with active pulmonary TB at the time of diagnosis and after start of standard chemotherapy.

A systematic review on the roles of knowledge management in public sectors: Synthesis and way forwards.

The main objective of this study is to examine and synthesise the role of knowledge management in the public sector. The study applied the systematic review technique of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) to evaluate the role of knowledge management in the public sector using 33 selected web of science core collection journal articles. The study acknowledged that different theories have been applied by the scholars using different research methodologie The articles published in the stated year show progressive increment, and the authors used different research methods to undertake a study on KM in the public sector.

Identification of motif-based interactions between SARS-CoV-2 protein domains and human peptide ligands pinpoint antiviral targets.

The virus life cycle depends on host-virus protein-protein interactions, which often involve a disordered protein region binding to a folded protein domain. Here, we used proteomic peptide phage display (ProP-PD) to identify peptides from the intrinsically disordered regions of the human proteome that bind to folded protein domains encoded by the SARS-CoV-2 genome. Eleven folded domains of SARS-CoV-2 proteins were found to bind 281 peptides from human proteins, and affinities of 31 interactions involving eight SARS-CoV-2 protein domains were determined (K ∼ 7-300 μM).
