Introduction: Prediction of nonhome discharge after open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) of distal femur fractures may facilitate earlier discharge planning, potentially decreasing costs and improving outcomes. We aim to develop algorithms predicting nonhome discharge and time to discharge after distal femur ORIF and identify features important for model performance.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of adults in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database who underwent distal femur ORIF between 2010 and 2019.

Introduction: Increased intestinal permeability is a possible pathophysiological mechanism of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Increased colonic epithelial permeability is associated with visceral nociception in rodents and abdominal pain severity in IBS patients. Although IBS is more common in women, most studies on IBS-associated epithelial dysfunction have largely overlooked sex as a biologic variable.

Background: Prostate specific antigen density (PSAd) is one of the strongest predictors of clinically-significant prostate cancer (csPCa) in risk calculators. There is little evidence on the effect of prostate volume on the diagnostic performance of PSAd. Our aim was to define the diagnostic accuracy of PSAd for predicting csPCa across prostate volumes.

Purpose: Adding CDK4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6is) to endocrine therapy (ET) for HR+/HER2- early breast cancer (EBC) demonstrated statistically significant invasive disease-free survival (iDFS) benefits in monarchE (node positive, high risk, stage II/III) and NATALEE (select N0 and all macroscopic N1, stage II/III). This study evaluated patient preferences for EBC treatment attributes and how these may translate for CDK4/6i selection.

Methods: A web-based discrete choice experiment survey was conducted among US-based adult women with self-reported stage II/III HR+/HER2- EBC.

Introduction: Manual investigation of falls incidents for quality improvement is time-consuming for clinical staff. Routine care delivery generates a large volume of relevant data in disparate systems, yet these data are seldom integrated and transformed into real-time, actionable insights for frontline staff. This protocol describes the co-design and testing of a safe mobility and falls informatics platform for automated, real-time insights to support the learning response to inpatient falls.
