Accessibility of public Web sites - the InHand case study.

Access to information and communication systems for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) is a priority both for the EU and candidate countries. This paper presents some results of the Romanian project called "InHand - Information Center for Persons with Disabilities)". The main goal of the project is to contribute to improving the quality of life and health status of this group of people.

This paper reports the first results of the implementation of the research project CSCW--a paradigm for an efficient management of the healthcare organizations. The main objective of the project is to define a standard framework for the design of integrated systems for computer supported cooperative work applications in health management. The project is funded by the Romanian government and is carried on by an interdisciplinary team (researchers, educators, health professionals).

Integrated Internet based tools for learning and evaluating the International Classification of Nursing Practice.

This paper presents some tools designed and implemented for learning-related purposes; these tools can be downloaded or run on the TeleNurse web site. Among other facilities, TeleNurse web site is hosting now the version 1.2 of SysTerN (terminology system for nursing) which can be downloaded on request and also the "Evaluation of Translation" form which has been designed in order to improve the Romanian translation of the ICNP (the International Classification of Nursing Practice).

A neural network ActiveX based integrated image processing environment.

The paper outlines an integrated image processing environment that uses neural networks ActiveX technology for object recognition and classification. The image processing environment which is Windows based, encapsulates a Multiple-Document Interface (MDI) and is menu driven. Object (shape) parameter extraction is focused on features that are invariant in terms of translation, rotation and scale transformations.
