Toxicity and Quality of Life After Locoregional Radiotherapy in Patients With Thyroid Cancer.

Background: Locoregional external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is selectively used in thyroid cancer patients to induce locoregional control. However, despite technological advances, EBRT remains associated with toxicities. We evaluated thyroid-cancer specific toxicities and long-term Quality of Life (QoL) post-EBRT.

PEDOT/Polypyrrole Core-Sheath Fibers for Use as Conducting Polymer Artificial Muscles.

Electropolymerized polypyrrole (PPy) is considered as one of the promising polymers for use in ionic-electroactive or conducting polymer (CP) actuators. Its electromechanical properties surpass those of other prominent CPs such as poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT/PSS) or polyaniline. However, freestanding and linear contracting actuator fibers made solely of electropolymerized PPy are not available yet.

Medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) is a rare cancer with variable disease course. To enable optimal care, centralization and consensus guidelines are essential. This study describes trends in the incidence, organization of care, surgical treatment, and outcomes of MTC over 30 years in the Netherlands.

7T MRI as a powerful tool to detect small and medium size vessel CNS vasculitis.

Imaging can help to diagnose CNS vasculitis. Yet so far, no imaging studies of CNS vasculitis at 7T are available. We share our experience of vessel wall imaging (VWI) at 7T in patients with suspected vasculitis.

Quality of care of oncological patients with home parenteral nutrition.

Purpose: Transferring adult cancer patients from the hospital to the home environment for home parenteral nutrition (HPN) can be challenging. There is limited real-world data on how those affected perceive this situation. Our aim was to assess the quality of life (QoL) on HPN and the benefits and burdens from the cancer patient's perspective.
