Foods are analysed for their vitamin content to support the verification of regulatory compliance or to generate food composition data. Many international reference methods for the analysis of vitamins in foods originate from the 1990s. Advances in nutrition science and analytical technology and the continuing evolution of statutory regulations necessitate the need of new or supplementary regulatory standards.

Considering existing risks of misquantification inherent to the analysis of AA, an AOAC initiative raised the need for a consensus standard to determine AA in a broad variety of food.
Objective: A quantitative LC-MS/MS method for AA determination in food was validated in a single-laboratory study.
Objectives: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a congenital malformation in which the diaphragm and lungs are underdeveloped, leading to cardiorespiratory and other problems. This study aimed to explore professionals' views regarding prenatal counselling in CDH.
Methods: A qualitative study was performed among healthcare professionals involved in the care of CDH patients in Radboud university medical center Amalia Children's Hospital.
Background: Chlorate is an effective herbicide, but also a byproduct of chlorinating agents used to disinfect water, which is one of the reasons why it is regularly found in food. Perchlorate is a ubiquitous contaminant, which is naturally occurring in the environment but also released from anthropogenic sources such as the industrial use of certain natural fertilizers. Chlorate affects the hematological system, and perchlorate the thyroid.
