Body fat percentage (BF%) is routinely measured in athletes to monitor training and dietary interventions. Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is widely considered the gold standard body composition measurement technique, but DXA BF% values measure consistently higher than other techniques. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to determine the lowest DXA-estimated whole-body fat mass in free-living athletes with unrestricted access to food.

A web-based tool was co-developed with family day care service providers and educators, health promotion staff and the New South Wales Ministry of Health to promote healthier nutrition and physical activity practices through an existing quality improvement process.
Methods: Formative evaluation was conducted in January-February 2023.
Rationale & Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects millions of people in the United States, yet effective interventions to address gaps in patient knowledge and engagement are not well-established. We developed and pilot tested a brief educational decision aid for patients with CKD who are being treated in primary care settings.
Study Design: Pilot quality improvement (QI) study of a decision aid intervention.
