The somato-cognitive action network (SCAN) consists of three nodes interspersed within Penfield's motor effector regions. The configuration of the somato-cognitive action network nodes resembles the one of the 'plis de passage' of the central sulcus: small gyri bridging the precentral and postcentral gyri. Thus, we hypothesize that these may provide a structural substrate of the somato-cognitive action network.

Nonetheless, patients desire less invasive options for permanent, durable treatment of their aneurysms; this is particularly the case for those presenting without subarachnoid hemorrhage, and those with multiple aneurysms that may require several surgical approaches. Keyhole craniotomies, when properly utilized in well-selected patients, allow for minimally invasive treatment of both ruptured and unruptured cerebral aneurysms, including those harboring bilateral aneurysms which may be treated from a single approach.

Multiple medical and interventional treatment strategies exist and vary between centers. This is a retrospective multicenter observational cohort study of pediatric patients who underwent Fontan operation at 8 pediatric cardiac surgical institutions from 1/1/2019 to 12/31/2021.

Background: Existing functional connectivity studies of psychosis use population-averaged functional network maps, despite highly variable topographies of these networks across the brain surface. We aimed to define the functional network areas and topographies in the general population and the changes associated with psychotic experiences (PEs) and disorders.
Methods: Maps of 8 functional networks were generated using an individual-specific template-matching procedure for each participant from the Human Connectome Project Young Adult cohort ( = 1003) and from a matched case cohort (schizophrenia [SCZ], = 27; bipolar disorder, = 35) scanned identically with the same Connectom scanner.
Background: There are no approved oral disease-modifying treatments for Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess efficacy and safety of blarcamesine (ANAVEX®2-73), an orally available small-molecule activator of the sigma-1 receptor (SIGMAR1) in early AD through restoration of cellular homeostasis including autophagy enhancement.
Design: ANAVEX2-73-AD-004 was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 48-week Phase IIb/III trial.
