Vaccines and immunotherapies that target peptide-major histocompatibility complexes (peptide-MHCs) have the potential to address multiple unmet medical needs in cancer and infectious disease. Designing vaccines and immunotherapies to target peptide-MHCs requires accurate identification of target peptides in infected or cancerous cells or tissue, and may require absolute or relative quantification to identify abundant targets and measure changes in presentation under different treatment conditions. Internal standard parallel reaction monitoring (also known as 'SureQuant') can be used to validate and/or quantify MHC peptides previously identified by using untargeted methods such as data-dependent acquisition.

Background: Nicotine dependence is associated with glutamatergic neurotransmission in the caudate and putamen (CPu) of the forebrain which includes alterations in the structure of dendritic spines at glutamate synapses. These changes after nicotine exposure can lead to the development of habitual behaviors such as smoking. The present study investigated the hypothesis that cofilin, an actin-binding protein that is linked to the GluN2B subunits of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors regulates the morphology of dendritic spines in the neurons of the CPu after repeated exposure to nicotine.

East Asian populations exhibit a genetic predisposition to obesity, yet comprehensive research on these traits is limited. We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) with 93,673 Korean subjects to uncover novel genetic loci linked to obesity, examining metrics such as body mass index, waist circumference, body fat ratio, and abdominal fat ratio. Participants were categorized into non-obese, metabolically healthy obese (MHO), and metabolically unhealthy obese (MUO) groups.
