EVA Suit 2000: a joint European/Russian space suit design.

A feasibility study in 1992 showed the benefits of a common European Russian space suit development, EVA Suit 2000, replacing the Russian space suit Orlan-DMA and the planned European Hermes EVA space suit at the turn of the century. This EVA Suit 2000 is a joint development initiated by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Russian Space Agency (RKA). The main objectives of this development program are: first utilization aboard the Russian Space Station MIR-2; performance improvement with respect to current operational suits; development cost reduction.

[Structure of the alveolar wall in obstructive pulmonary atelectasis in children].

The results of light and electron microscopy and morphometric studies of the alveolar wall in obstructive atelectasis in children with chronic nonspecific lung diseases (materials of 40 biopsies) are presented. Morphological changes in obstructive atelectases of various durations are described. Fresh atelectasis was shown to be characterized mostly by discirculatory and dystrophic changes.

[Clinico-anatomical types of deforming bronchitis in children].

A complex clinico-roentgeno-morphological investigation was performed in 38 patients, aged from 4 to 15 years, with chronic deformative bronchitis. [Bronchiolar emphysema in a child at the age of 1 1/2 months].

Bronchiolar emphysema was found in an infant of 1.5 months of age in the course of a morphological investigation of a resected 5th segment. There were noted a peculiar incompleteness of the structure of the air-passage and respiratory apparatus of the lungs, diagnosed as arrest of development at the level of respiratory bronchioles.
