Although systemic lupus erythematosus may present with broad and variable symptoms, the rare and atypical combined presentation of central retinal vein occlusion, myocarditis, and deep vein thrombosis poses a diagnostic challenge and highlights the need for a comprehensive diagnostic approach. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment help mitigate disease morbidity and mortality, and emphasize the importance of heightened clinical suspicion in complex presentations.

Oral mucositis (OM) as a complication of high-dose chemotherapy is frequently occurred in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) settings. Erythropoietin (EPO) has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and wound-healing properties and therefore could have an important role in the prevention of OM. We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to evaluate the EPO mouthwash effect on OM incidence and severity in 80 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin disease (HD) or multiple myeloma, undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Background: Fungal rhino sinusitis (FRS) is an important infection of para nasal sinuses, which encompasses two main categories; invasive and noninvasive forms according to histopathological findings. Aspergillus spp are the most common species isolated from noninvasive form, while Mucorales are more frequently isolates from acute infections.
Methods: Four hundred fifty patients suspected to fungal rhino sinusitis were investigated in a cross-sectional prospective study from June 2009 to Sep 2013.
