Here we demonstrate direct ink write (DIW) additive manufacturing of carbon nanotube (CNT)/phenolic composites with heat dissipation and excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding capabilities without curing-induced deformation. Such polymer composites are valuable for protecting electronic devices from overheating and electromagnetic interference. CNTs were used as a multifunctional nanofiller to improve electrical and thermal conductivity, printability, stability during curing, and EMI shielding performance of CNT/phenolic composites.

  • The study tested RNA integrity in horse hair follicle samples stored in RNAlater® under different temperature conditions (4°C and room temperature) for varying durations.
  • Results showed no significant differences in RNA quantity or quality across the storage conditions, indicating that hair follicles can be stored for a week without compromising RNA integrity for research purposes.

Background: Acute, transient, but sometimes persistent, delirium is characterized by a sharp disruption in attention, consciousness, and cognitive function, and can be caused by many medications and disorders. Delirium occurrence and negative consequences, such as falls and functional decline, can be decreased with multifactorial prevention and timely detection.

Aims: To describe current clinical practice in relation to the prevention, assessment, and management of delirium in Irish hospitals; awareness-raising and educational activities; and barriers to good practice.

When a neuron breaks silence, it can emit action potentials in a number of patterns. Some responses are so sudden and intense that electrophysiologists felt the need to single them out, labelling action potentials emitted at a particularly high frequency with a metonym - bursts. Is there more to bursts than a figure of speech? After all, sudden bouts of high-frequency firing are expected to occur whenever inputs surge.
