Some data suggest that increased depressive symptoms may occur in women using combined oral contraceptives (OCs). However, this idea is controversial and the existing evidence is conflicting. The present study compared negative affect in 53 healthy women (  = 19.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the use of targeted nanoparticles (RGD-ELNP) carrying miR-200c to modify the extracellular matrix (ECM) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and inhibit tumor growth.
  • In mouse models, the treatment significantly reduced ECM proteins associated with tumor progression and inhibited the ability of PDAC cells to form structures and migrate.
  • Non-invasive imaging techniques (MT218-MRMI) effectively tracked changes in tumor ECM and confirmed the therapeutic efficacy of RGD-ELNP/miR-200c, showing promise for improving PDAC treatment strategies.

Background: Sixty-five percent of people with severe asthma and a fractional exhaled nitric oxide (Feno) greater than or equal to 45 parts per billion (ppb) are nonadherent to inhaled corticosteroids (ICSs). Digital devices recording both time of use and inhaler technique identify nonadherence and ICS responsiveness but are not widely available. As the NEXThaler dose counter activates only at an inspiratory flow rate of 35 L/min, this may provide an alternative to identifying ICS responsiveness.

Norbin is an adaptor protein that binds numerous G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), is highly expressed in neurons, and is essential for a functioning nervous system in rodent models. Yet, beyond its control of neurite outgrowth and synaptic plasticity, few cellular roles of Norbin have been investigated to date. Furthermore, while Norbin is known to regulate the steady-state cell surface levels of several GPCRs, only in one case has the protein been shown to control the agonist-induced receptor internalisation which serves to attenuate GPCR signalling.

Importance: The US arrival of the Omicron variant led to a rapid increase in SARS-CoV-2 infections. While numerous studies report characteristics of Omicron infections among vaccinated individuals or persons with previous infection, comprehensive data describing infections among adults who are immunologically naive are lacking.

Objectives: To examine COVID-19 acute and postacute clinical outcomes among a well-characterized cohort of unvaccinated and previously uninfected adults who contracted SARS-CoV-2 during the Omicron (BA.
