Background: Set against the backdrop of a rapidly ageing population and growing emphasis on the importance of ageing-in-place, family members often assume the role of a caregiver. Navigating through a complex healthcare system while simultaneously juggling the daily care needs of their care-recipients, caregivers often become worn out by the intense caregiver stress and burden, neglecting their own well-being. This translates to adverse health and economic outcomes such as prolonged hospital stays and increased nursing home placement of care-recipients.

Public fertility preservation programme for cancer patients in Hong Kong.

Introduction: Fertility preservation (FP) offers cancer patients the opportunity to have biological children after completing treatment. This study was performed to review the experience and changes in service demand since the implementation of a public FP programme for cancer patients in Hong Kong.

Methods: This retrospective study included men and women who attended an assisted reproduction unit for public FP services before cancer treatment from August 2020 to February 2023.

Political Parties and Household Food Insecurity Among Canadian Provinces: A Panel Data Analysis, 2005-2014.

In Canada, links between social determinants and household food insecurity (HFI) are well-documented, but the influence of political parties remains unclear. This study examines whether political parties predict HFI rates across Canadian provinces and explores the mediating roles of low income and social assistance. Panel data from 2005 to 2014 were obtained from Statistics Canada, with political party strength categorized as left, center, or right.
