Ethical and legal aspects concerning robotic surgery in Brazil.

Robotic surgery is a technological milestone that directly impacts the provision of healthcare services. Procedures that utilize robotics are continuously being developed. In this context, it is important to analyze the distribution of ethical and civil liability among doctors, hospitals, and suppliers of surgical equipment in cases of alleged medical errors or adverse events that may harm patients.

Evaluating Variational Quantum Eigensolver Approaches for Simplified Models of Molecular Systems: A Case Study on Protocatechuic Acid.

The Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) is a hybrid algorithm that combines quantum and classical computing to determine the ground-state energy of molecular systems. In this context, this study applies VQE to investigate the ground state of protocatechuic acid, analyzing its performance with various Ansatzes and active spaces. Subsequently, all VQE results were compared to those obtained with the CISD and FCI methods.

Hematological and Biochemical Characteristics Associated with Cytogenetic Findern Alterations in Adult Patients with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) from the Northern Region of Brazil.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an aggressive neoplasm derived from B and/or T cell lineage (B-ALL; T-ALL). For the first time, this study describes, cytogenetically, the karyotypic alterations in adults with ALL in the northern region of Brazil and their relationship with hematological and biochemical characteristics. Through banding analyses, immunophenotyping, as well as hematological and biochemical examination data obtained directly from patients' records, we found that chromosome 21 aneuploidy was the most frequent.

Antihyperglycemic and antioxidant potential of a lectin from in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

This study aimed to evaluate the antihyperglycemic and antioxidant activities of the lectin isolated from (BTL). Diabetes was induced in Wistar rats through low-dose streptozotocin injections. Following the confirmation of hyperglycaemia, the animals were treated with 150 mM NaCl, glibenclamide, or BTL at 600 or 900 mg/kg.

An antihypertensive move: technology to mediate teaching practices with health students about medications.

Objective: To verify evidence of validity of the board game "An antihypertensive move" produced to mediate teaching practices with students on health courses about diuretic and antihypertensive medications.
