Background And Aims: Few studies have been conducted addressing the safety of thiopurine treatment in pregnant women with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The aim of this study was to evaluate the pregnancy outcome of women with IBD who have been exposed to thiopurines.

Methods: 215 pregnancies in 204 women were registered and documented in the CESAME cohort between May 2004 and October 2007.

Acute pandysautonomia is a rare acute autonomic neuropathy that mainly affects young women. We report a case of idiopathic acute pandysautonomia associated with an esophageal achalasia in a 30-year-old woman. The clinical features were inaugural dysphagia followed by signs of parasympathetic failure of the entire digestive tract, bladder and pupils.

We report a case of a small cell carcinoma of the lung revealed by chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction associated with achalasia of the lower esophageal sphincter. Tumoral remission was achieved for more than 21 months after chemoradiotherapy but this did not prevent the paraneoplasic syndrome from persisting and medical treatment was not successful in treating the intestinal pseudo-obstruction or the dysphagia, which was not improved by esophageal dilation.

A case of an 84 year old woman addressed for dysphagia is discussed. The endoscopic and histologic examination revealed a gastric linitis with cardial invasion. Classically, there is no characteristic macroscopic description associated with gastric linitis.
