The incidence of stage A prostatic carcinoma is approximately 10 per cent. We performed a clinical trial to determine if pre-prostatectomy fine needle aspiration could detect reliably stage A prostatic carcinoma. In 102 men with clinically staged benign disease by digital examination we performed a 4-quadrant fine needle aspiration of the prostate before prostatectomy.

Fracture of semirigid penile prosthesis: a rare complication.

We report 3 cases of fractured semirigid Small-Carrion and Finney penile prostheses. All prostheses had been in place and functional for at least 2 years before fracture. We may begin to see more complications associated with material failure.

Peritonitis due to intraperitoneal perforation of infected urachal cysts.

Acute bacterial peritonitis due to intraperitoneal perforation of an infected urachal cyst represents a potentially lethal complication of the rare anomalies of the fetal urachus. We report four cases of this disease, including what we believe is the first to have been correctly diagnosed prior to operation. All four patients underwent emergency laparotomy and curative excision of the urachal remnant.
