There are many articles on the quantitative analysis of miRNAs contained in a population of EVs of different sizes under various physiological and pathological conditions. For such analysis, it is important to correctly quantify the miRNA contents of EVs. It should be considered that quantification is skewed depending on the isolation protocol, and different miRNAs are degraded by nucleases with different efficiencies.

Immunotherapy has become an integral part of a comprehensive treatment approach to metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Nivolumab (Opdivo) is a human immunoglobulin G4 monoclonal antibody that blocks the interaction between the programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptor and its ligands 1/2 (PD-L1/PD-L2), leading to inhibition of T-cell proliferation, cytokine secretion, and enhanced immune response. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved this drug for use in high microsatellite instability (MSI-high)/deficiencies in mismatch repair (dMMR) advanced CRC patients.

Severe COVID-19 alters the biochemical and morphological characteristics of blood cells in a wide variety of ways. To date, however, the vast majority of research has been devoted to the study of leukocytes, while erythrocyte morphological changes have received significantly less attention. The aim of this research was to identify erythrocyte morphology abnormalities that occur in COVID-19, compare the number of different poikilocyte types, and measure erythrocyte sizes to provide data on size dispersion.

Purpose: The incidence, patient features, risk factors and outcomes of surgery-associated postoperative acute kidney injury (PO-AKI) across different countries and health care systems is unclear.

Methods: We conducted an international prospective, observational, multi-center study in 30 countries in patients undergoing major surgery (> 2-h duration and postoperative intensive care unit (ICU) or high dependency unit admission). The primary endpoint was the occurrence of PO-AKI within 72 h of surgery defined by the Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria.

Background: Sporadic multiple parathyroid gland disease is ¼ cases of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). However, a single tactic for diagnosing and operating volume in patients with this variant of PHPT has not yet been developed. One of the possible directions in the search for pathogenetically substantiated methods of diagnosis and treatment is the study of the molecular genetic features of the disease and associated clinical and laboratory factors.
