Exploring the Effect of Annealing on PLA/Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites: In Search of Efficient PLA/MWCNT Nanocomposites for Electromagnetic Shielding.

In this research, poly(lactic acid) (PLA) nanocomposites with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were produced by extrusion, injection, and compression molding, focusing on electromagnetic shielding. Various amounts of carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were tested in PLA matrix, specifically ranging from 1 to 4 parts per hundred resin (phr). The resulting nanocomposites were analyzed before and after undergoing annealing heat treatment.

Biomechanical evaluation of different fixation techniques in the rotation of the maxillary occlusal plane after Le Fort I osteotomy.

Background: To analyze the biomechanical and functional characteristics of different maxillary fixation techniques after Le Fort I osteotomy and occlusal plane rotation, using the finite element method to simulate the mechanical behavior of three different osteosynthesis approaches.

Material And Methods: This is a virtual experimental study carried out using finite element analysis to compare three different osteosynthesis techniques after Le Fort I osteotomy and rotation of the maxillary occlusal plane. Three configurations were tested: four-point fixation with "L" plates (C1), two-point fixation with "L" plates (C2), and two-point fixation with pre-modeled Lindorf plates (C3).

Social network for guardians of transgender children and adolescents.

Objective: To analyze the social network of mothers, fathers or guardians of transgender children or adolescents.

Methods: This was a qualitative study, based on the theoretical framework of social network, with a focus on the primary network. The study was conducted in Brazil through online interviews between August and October 2021.

Social Representations of pregnancy among trans men.

Objective: to understand the meanings and experiences of pregnancy among trans men in light of the Theory of Social Representations.

Methods: this is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, carried out with trans men selected for convenience and availability. Data production took place from September to October 2021, via the Google Meet® platform, based on interviews with a semi-structured script.

Inpatient treatment for severe obesity: A retrospective cohort study in Brazil, comparing exposure variables in a secondary data analysis.

Introduction: Very low-calorie diets with hospitalization have demonstrated promise as a viable therapeutic option for severe obesity and its associated comorbidities. However, large studies providing a comprehensive longitudinal observation of patients undergoing this therapy are lacking. We evaluated the effectiveness of treating severe obesity in hospitalized patients, using very low-calorie diets and clinical support to develop lifestyle changes.
