This review examined research to identify longitudinal predictors of adolescent sexual behavior outcomes. These predictors hold promise as potential outcomes for teen pregnancy prevention program evaluations when measuring sexual behavior outcomes is infeasible or theoretically, methodologically, or developmentally inappropriate. We conducted a systematic review using a prespecified search strategy and processes consistent with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.

Aims: Sodium/glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2 or SLC5A2) inhibitors lower blood glucose and are also approved treatments for heart failure independent of raised glucose. Various studies have showed that SGLT2 inhibitors relax arteries, but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood and responses variable across arterial beds. We speculated that SGLT2 inhibitor-mediated arterial relaxation is dependent upon calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) released from sensory nerves independent of glucose transport.

Co-infections are a common reality but understanding how the immune system responds in this context is complex and can be unpredictable. Heligmosomoides bakeri (parasitic roundworm, previously Heligmosomoides polygyrus) and Toxoplasma gondii (protozoan parasite) are well studied organisms that stimulate a characteristic Th2 and Th1 response, respectively. Several studies have demonstrated reduced inflammatory cytokine responses in animals co-infected with such organisms.

Parental warmth during the transition from childhood to adolescence is a key protective factor against a host of adolescent problems, including substance use, maladjustment, and diminished well-being. Moreover, adolescents and parents often disagree in their perceptions of parenting quality, and these discrepancies may confer risk for problem outcomes. The current study applies latent profile analysis to a sample of 687 mother-father-6th grade adolescent triads to identify patterns of adolescent-parent convergence and divergence in perceptions of parental warmth.

Introduction: Sodium dependent glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2 or SLC5A2) inhibitors effectively lower blood glucose and are also approved treatments for heart failure independent of raised glucose. One component of the cardioprotective effect is reduced cardiac afterload but the mechanisms underlying peripheral relaxation are ill defined and variable. We speculated that SGLT2 inhibitors promoted arterial relaxation via the release of the potent vasodilator calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) from sensory nerves independent of glucose transport.
