Synergies and trade-offs between provisioning and climate-regulating ecosystem services in reindeer herding ecosystems.

Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) pastoralism utilizes vast boreo-arctic taiga and tundra as grazing land. Highly fluctuating population sizes pose major challenges to the economy and livelihood of indigenous herder communities. In this study we investigated the effect of population fluctuations on core provisioning and regulating ecosystem services in two Sámi reindeer herding districts with contrasting fluctuation trends.

Effectiveness of behavior change interventions for smoking cessation among expectant and new fathers: findings from a systematic review.

Background: Smoking cessation during pregnancy and the postpartum period by both women and their partners offers multiple health benefits. However, compared to pregnant/postpartum women, their partners are less likely to actively seek smoking cessation services. There is an increased recognition about the importance of tailored approaches to smoking cessation for expectant and new fathers.

[Consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic: Are there risk groups for reduced subjective well-being after the first lockdown?].

Background: Measures to contain COVID-19 have created burdens that have widened health inequalities. We examine the extent to which risk groups for reduced subjective well-being can be identified after the 2020 lockdown. In doing so, we also consider possible interactions of different social grouping characteristics as part of an intersectional approach.

Examining the role of affective states in relation to exercise intentions and participation in extra-curricular exercise classes at university: A repeated measurement observational study.

Background: Previous research has shown evidence on the role of affective states for physical activity behavior. However, there is a lack of research investigating the interplay between affective states, intentions, and exercise behavior, especially with respect to maintaining regular exercise over time. The study aimed to investigate whether post-exercise affective states and changes in affect during exercise (i) are related to exercise intentions; (ii) moderate the relationship between intention and subsequent exercise behavior, and (iii) directly predict future exercise.
