Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores the importance of obtaining clear magnetic resonance (MR) images during ion radiotherapy and analyzes the quality of these images in an experimental setup using phantom imaging and simultaneous irradiation.
  • - An open MR scanner was set up in front of an ion beamline, revealing that certain artifacts (like ghosting) in images were related to the magnetic field effects from the beam scanning process, especially under specific conditions.
  • - Using a fast imaging pulse sequence minimized image artifacts, demonstrating that real-time MR imaging could be successfully implemented in future hybrid radiotherapy devices.

Article Synopsis
  • Polar body biopsy (PBB) is a technique used in preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to determine the chromosomal status of oocytes, and this study aimed to explore its effects on early embryo development and morphokinetics.
  • A total of 404 embryos were analyzed (202 with PBB and 202 controls) using a time-lapse incubator, and findings showed no significant differences in the developmental timings between the PBB and control groups.
  • The study concludes that PBB does not adversely affect embryo development, supporting its safety and recommendation as a viable PGT method, especially in regions with strict PGT regulations.*

Purpose: Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is commonly known as the most potent marker for ovarian reserve due to its decline as female age increases. While serum AMH (sAMH) levels have been intensively investigated, there is less data regarding AMH concentrations in follicular fluid (FF), since FF has usually been designated as waste product during oocyte collection in assisted reproductive technologies. This pilot study investigated follicle AMH concentrations (fAMH) of several follicles per ovary, individually collected with the Steiner-Tan needle, and compared them to sAMH concentrations in women undergoing IVF treatment.
