Purpose: This study is to develop a structured approach to distinguishing large-artery vasculitis from atherosclerosis using 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography combined with low-dose computed tomography (FDG PET/CT).

Methods: FDG PET/CT images of 60 patients were evaluated, 30 having biopsy-proven giant cell arteritis (GCA; the most common form of large-artery vasculitis), and 30 with severe atherosclerosis. Images were evaluated by 12 nuclear medicine physicians using 5 criteria: FDG uptake pattern (intensity, distribution, circularity), the degree of calcification, and co-localization of calcifications with FDG-uptake.

Introduction: Pre-invasive squamous lesions of the central airways can progress into invasive lung cancers. Identifying these high-risk patients could enable detection of invasive lung cancers at an early stage. To evaluate diagnostic accuracy of qualitative analysis and interobserver agreement of single ultrafast-DCE, DWI or F-FDG-PET and the combination of modalities for the detection of unknown primary tumor (UPT) in patients presenting with cervical lymph node metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Between 2014-2019, patients with histologically proven cervical lymph node metastasis of UPT SCC were prospectively included and underwent DWI, ultrafast-DCE, and F-FDG-PET/CT. Qualitative assessment was performed by two observers per modality.

Introduction: Ground-glass opacities in a high-resolution computed tomography (HR-CT) scan correlate, if malignant, with adenocarcinoma in situ. The solid appearance in the HR-CT is often considered indicative of an invasive component. This study aims to compare the radiologic features revealed in the HR-CT and the histologic features of primary adenocarcinomas in resection specimens to find the presence of tumor atelectasis in ground-glass nodules (GGNs) and part-solid and solid nodules.
