Background: Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical syndrome with numerous etiologies, mostly characterized by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities in the posterior cerebral white and gray matter and acute neurological symptoms.

Aim: To examine the predisposing factors, clinical results, and radiological features of PRES in children diagnosed with malignancy.

Materials And Methods: The study included 20 patients (7 F/13 M) aged 4-16 years at the time of diagnosis who were diagnosed with malignancy and developed PRES during chemotherapy.

Background: Malnutrition in pediatric oncology patients is a complex and multifactorial process, and the most appropriate screening tool to determine the risk of malnutrition is not clear. The study aimed to compare the Screening Tool for Risk on Nutritional Status and Growth (StrongKids), Pediatric Yorkhill Malnutrition Score (PYMS), Screening Tool for the Assessment of Malnutrition in Pediatrics (STAMP), which are commonly used in the general pediatric population, with the Nutrition Screening Tool for Childhood Cancer (SCAN), which was specifically validated for pediatric cancer, in determining the risk of malnutrition.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 92 children aged 2-18 years who were admitted to the hematology-oncology unit and were receiving chemotherapy.

Vehicle scanning methods are gaining popularity because of their ability to identify modal properties of several bridges with only one instrumentation setup, and several methods have been proposed in the last decade. In the numerical models used to develop and validate such methods, bridge damping is often overlooked, and its impact on the efficacy of vehicle scanning methods remains unknown. The present article addresses this knowledge gap by systematically investigating the effects of bridge damping on the efficacy of vehicle scanning methods in identifying the modal properties of bridges.

Objective: Neonatal sepsis and familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (fHLH) have similar clinical and laboratory symptoms and the possibility of overlooking fHLH diagnosis is high in newborns with sepsis. History of consanguineous marriage and/or sibling death, hepatomegaly/splenomegaly, and hyperferritinemia (>500 ng/mL) are likely to support fHLH in newborns with sepsis. Therefore, in newborns with sepsis in whom at least 2 of these 3 criteria were detected, genetic variants was investigated for the definitive diagnosed of fHLH.
