Background: Selective attention is a fundamental cognitive mechanism that allows people to prioritise task-relevant information while ignoring irrelevant information. Previous research has suggested key roles of parietal event-related potentials (ERPs) and alpha oscillatory responses in attention tasks. However, the informational content of these signals is less clear, and their causal effects on the coding of multiple task elements are yet unresolved.

Article Synopsis
  • The molecular ion HCCCH was studied using a cryogenic ion trap and leak-out spectroscopy at very low temperatures (4 K).
  • For the first time, high-resolution measurements were obtained for the fundamental ν band (antisymmetric H-C-H stretch) and the combination band ν + ν (C≡C stretch and CH rock).
  • This research, supported by advanced quantum chemical calculations, significantly improved the accuracy of the rotational constant for HCCCH by seventy times compared to previous studies.

Objective: Sexual violence is prevalent and associated with an elevated risk for physical health problems and psychological disorders. The social reactions survivors receive in response to disclosures of sexual violence can impact their postassault recovery. Many survivors do not disclose experiences of sexual violence, which can also complicate the course of recovery.

Introduction: Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) in the treatment of choroidal melanoma (CM) may be indicated if the tumour is located close to the optic nerve or is unsuitable for a radiotherapeutic plaque. It is thought that the rate of visual decline and ocular sequelae with SRT is influenced by dose and location of radiation in relation to important visual structures. This study therefore aimed to look at these prognoses with respect to localisation and dose of radiation when treatment of CM with SRT occurs.
