We present a modeling strategy to forecast the incidence rate of dengue in the department of Córdoba, Colombia, thereby considering the effect of climate variables. A Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model with exogenous variables (SARIMAX) model is fitted under a cross-validation approach, and we examine the effect of the exogenous variables on the performance of the model. This study uses data of dengue cases, precipitation, and relative humidity reported from years 2007 to 2021.

In this work, we developed a simple and novel strategy to valorize PVC and PS plastics via photothermal conversion to (1-chloroethyl)benzene, a commodity chemical with excellent versatility. As PVC is known to release HCl gas and decompose into conjugated polyenes, we envisioned a dual role for PVC plastics.

The ARID1A protein features a conserved DNA-binding domain (ARID domain) of approximately 100 residues crucial for its function. Despite the frequency of mutations, the impact on ARID1A's stability and contribution to cancer progression remains unclear.

The accumulation of waste constitutes a significant source of fungal particles released into the atmosphere, posing a potential health risk to nearby populations. The aim of this research was to evaluate the concentration of outdoor fungal particles, considering environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and direction) during summer and winter seasons in the 18 de octubre settlement and Chillón Avenue, areas located in the vicinity of the Modelo Callao Landfill in Ventanilla during 2022.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are considered an aberrant population of immature myeloid cells that have attracted considerable attention in recent years due to their potent immunosuppressive activity. These cells are typically absent or present in very low numbers in healthy individuals but become abundant under pathological conditions such as chronic infection, chronic inflammation and cancer. The immunosuppressive activity of MDSC helps to control excessive immune responses that might otherwise lead to tissue damage.
