Objective: To assess the morbidity profile and identify factors associated with frailty syndrome in post-COVID-19 elderly patients treated at the only Reference Center for Elderly Health Care in northern Minas Gerais.

Methods: This is a case series study, utilizing the Clinical-Functional Vulnerability Index-20 (CFVI-20) and Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) to characterize and evaluate the health condition of the group. To define the variables associated with frailty, a multivariate analysis was conducted.

Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) is a transmembrane serine exopeptidase abundantly expressed in the kidneys, predominantly in the proximal tubule (PT); however, its non-enzymatic functions in this nephron segment remain poorly understood. While DPP4 physically associates with the Na/H exchanger isoform 3 (NHE3) and its inhibitors exert natriuretic effects, the DPP4 role in blood pressure (BP) regulation remains controversial. This study investigated the effects of PT-specific deletion ( ) and global deletion ( ) on systolic blood pressure (SBP), natriuresis, and NHE3 regulation under baseline and angiotensin II (Ang II)-stimulated conditions in both male and female mice.

Article Synopsis
  • - The GET-WEL Program aimed to help Black and White breast cancer survivors (BCS) lose weight but saw lower enrollment and weight loss among Black participants compared to White participants, prompting the need for understanding barriers and facilitators to equitable participation.
  • - A study conducted semi-structured interviews with 24 BCS who did or did not participate in GET-WEL, revealing no major differences between Black and White participants in their experiences, but highlighting common barriers like lack of program awareness and challenges accessing healthy food.
  • - Findings suggest that increasing awareness of the program and providing resources for healthy food access and work/life balance could improve enrollment and support healthy lifestyles for minoritized BCS in future GET-WEL implementations.

Background: The importance of knowing the workload of family nurses lies essentially in the possibility of improving health outcomes, care processes and the nurse's professional life. There is a lack of studies that fully describe the nursing workload in primary care, particularly, in the context of family health nursing, and the ideal metrics to be used remain unknown, making it impossible to characterize and therefore provide the necessary insight to acknowledge the different contributions of several aspects that embody the global workload of family nurses. The objective of this scoping review was to map the known evidence and characterize the instruments used to assess the workload of family nurses.

Inoculation of Azospirillum in maize has become a standard practice in Latin America. However, information on the behavior and population survival of the Azospirillum post-inoculation is scarce, making standardization difficult and generating variations in inoculation efficiency across assays. In this study, we tracked the colonization of three agriculturally relevant Azospirillum strains (Ab-V5, Az39, and the ammonium excreting HM053) after different inoculation methods in maize crops by qPCR.
