This paper considers a new method for providing a recommendation (second opinion) for a laboratory assistant in manual blood typing based on serological plates. The manual method consists of two steps: preparation and analysis. During preparation step the laboratory assistant needs to fill each well of a plate with a blood sample and a reagent mixture according to methodological guidelines.

This paper describes a new open data set, consisting of images of a chessboard collected underwater with different refractive indices, which allows for investigation of the quality of different radial distortion correction methods. The refractive index is regulated by the degree of salinity of the water. The collected data set consists of 662 images, and the chessboard cell corners are manually marked for each image (for a total of 35,748 nodes).

One of the classical approaches to solving color reproduction problems, such as color adaptation or color space transform, is the use of a low-parameter spectral model. The strength of this approach is the ability to choose a set of properties that the model should have, be it a complete coverage of a color triangle or an accurate description of the addition or multiplication of spectra, knowing only the tristimulus corresponding to them. The disadvantage is that some of the properties of the mentioned spectral models are confirmed only experimentally.

Information on peripheral color perception is far from sufficient, since it has predominantly been obtained using small stimuli, limited ranges of eccentricities, and sophisticated experimental conditions. Our goal was to consider the possibility of facilitating technical realization of the classical method of asymmetric color matching (ACM) developed by Moreland and Cruz (1959) for assessing appearance of color stimuli in the peripheral visual field (VF). We adopted the ACM method by employing two smartphones to implement matching procedure at various eccentricities.
