[Amphotericin B Liposomal Lock Therapy in Fungal Peritonitis in a Patient With Peritoneal Dialysis: Regarding a Challenging Case].

Fungal peritonitis is a rare complication associated with peritoneal dialysis, whose standard management consists of systemic antifungal therapy associated with early removal of the peritoneal dialysis catheter. This report describes and analyzes the use of lock therapy with intracatheter liposomal amphotericin B in a clinical case of fungal peritonitis.

Osteoporosis' effects on dental implants osseointegration and survival rate: a systematic review of clinical studies.

Objectives: The goal of this systematic review was to critically appraise the existing evidence evaluating osteoporosis' effects on dental implant osseointegration and survival rate.

Data Source: A search was conducted in two databases, PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus, until October 2024, using the keywords 'osteoporosis,' 'osteopenia,' 'osseointegration,' and 'dental implants'. The inclusion criteria were clinical studies that evaluated the implant placement, complications, and osseointegration results in patients with osteoporosis; literature reviews and clinical studies addressing the outcome were considered; and articles written in English and published since 2000.

Symptom management in isocitrate dehydrogenase mutant glioma.

According to the 2021 World Health Organization classification of CNS tumors, gliomas harboring a mutation in isocitrate dehydrogenase (mIDH) are considered a distinct disease entity, typically presenting in adult patients before the age of 50 years. Given their multiyear survival, patients with mIDH glioma are affected by tumor and treatment-related symptoms that can have a large impact on the daily life of both patients and their caregivers for an extended period of time. Selective oral inhibitors of mIDH enzymes have recently joined existing anticancer treatments, including resection, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, as an additional targeted treatment modality.

Unraveling the Applicability of LbL Coatings for Drug Delivery in Dental Implant-Related Infection Treatment.

Peri-implantitis is an inflammatory condition caused by bacterial biofilms adhered on dental implant surfaces that cause progressive tissue destruction from the host's inflammatory response. The adverse effects of peri-implantitis progression can go beyond just losing the implant. This highlights the importance of implementing strategies to stabilize disease in the short term.

EEG features and synek scale indicate severity of neurotoxicity in adult patients treated with CD19 CAR T-cell therapy.

Patients who develop chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell-related immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) frequently undergo evaluation with electroencephalography (EEG). We hypothesize that EEG features and Synek scale score, a measure of degree of EEG abnormality, are associated with ICANS severity. Here, we performed a retrospective review of 125 adult patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) who received CAR-T cell therapy from 2010 to 2019, including 53 patients with B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia treated with 1928z CAR T cells (NCT01044069) and 72 patients with large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) treated with the commercial CAR T products axicabtagene ciloleucel or tisagenlecleucel.
