Several phase III studies published during the last year have investigated the effects of this drug class on chronic kidney disease and heart failure in diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Methods And Findings: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effect of SGLT2is on renal adverse events (AEs) in randomized controlled trials and controlled observational studies.
