Nizubaglustat is a novel, orally available, brain penetrant, potent, and selective dual inhibitor of ceramide glucosyltranferase and non-lysosomal neutral glucosylceramidase (NLGase), which is currently under development for the treatment of subjects with neurological manifestations in primary and secondary gangliosidoses. The objectives of this first-in-human study were to evaluate the safety and tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics (PD) of single oral doses of nizubaglustat after single (1, 3, and 9 mg) and multiple oral doses (9 mg once per day (QD) over 14 days) in healthy adults. Nizubaglustat was rapidly absorbed and systemic exposure was dose-proportional.

Objectives: This study analyses patterns of admission, mortality and performance indicators in a CICU before and during the Argentine lockdown in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: This is a retrospective observational cross-sectional study of all consecutive patients aged 18 years or more admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit at a high-volume reference hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina, comparing hospitalization rates, primary causes of admission, inpatient utilization indicators, pharmacy supplies' expenditures and in-hospital mortality between 5 March and 31 July 2020, with two corresponding control periods in 2019 and 2018.

Background: Cerebrolysin is a neuropeptide preparation with neuroprotective and neurotrophic properties. Our previous study demonstrates that cerebrolysin significantly improves functional recovery in rats after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).
Objective: To determine histological outcomes associated with therapeutic effects of cerebrolysin on functional recovery after TBI.
This meta-analysis combines the results of two identical stroke studies (CARS-1 and CARS-2) assessing efficacy of Cerebrolysin on motor recovery during early rehabilitation. Cerebrolysin is a parenterally administered neuropeptide preparation approved for the treatment of stroke. Both studies had a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design.
