To evaluate the incidence of mortality, hemorrhage, and neurological deficits in treating intracranial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in patients over 18 through a comparative analysis of surgical approaches and other therapeutic modalities. A systematic review was conducted using MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL, and LILACS databases in November 2023. Inclusion criteria included clinical trials, cohorts studies, case-controls studies, and case series comparing patients over 18 undergoing surgery or microsurgery versus other treatments (radiosurgery, isolated embolization, and conservative treatment).

Background: Walking speed is a measure of functional mobility that is relatively easy to quantify. In people with lower limb amputation, reduced walking speed has been linked with specific atypical spatiotemporal gait parameters. However, the influence of atypical spatiotemporal gait parameters on the walking speed of people with unilateral transtibial amputation (TTA) and transfemoral amputation (TFA) remains unclear.

Moniliophthora perniciosa is the causal agent of the witches' broom disease of cacao (Theobroma cacao), and it can infect the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) 'Micro-Tom' (MT) cultivar. Typical symptoms of infection are stem swelling and axillary shoot outgrowth, whereas reduction in root biomass is another side effect. Using infected MT, we investigated whether impaired root growth derives from hormonal imbalance or sink competition.

The pivotal roles played by nitric oxide (NO) in tissue repair, inflammation, and immune response have spurred the development of a wide range of NO-releasing biomaterials. More recently, 3D printing techniques have significantly broadened the potential applications of polymeric biomaterials in biomedicine. In this context, the development of NO-releasing biomaterials that can be fabricated through 3D printing techniques has emerged as a promising strategy for harnessing the benefits of localized NO release from implantable devices, tissue regeneration scaffolds, or bandages for topical applications.
