Background: Canine gastroenteritis (CGE) is a common cause for seeking veterinary care in companion animal medicine and an area where antibiotics have been reported to be widely used. Therefore, creating relevant benchmarks for antibiotic use in CGE is important when implementing and analyzing antibiotic stewardship interventions. The aim of this paper was to describe the level and temporal trend of systemic antibiotic use for CGE in Sweden between 2020 and 2023.

Theory has hypothesized the existence of 'plasticity syndromes'-positive correlations in plasticity across multiple behaviours within an individual-affording a generalized ability to respond to environmental change. However, the occurrence of correlated plasticities and their potential fitness consequences in natural populations remain untested.

Using impulse oscillometry (IOS) and spirometry, we assessed the functionalities of the large and small airways, respectively, in patients with UCC and in healthy control subjects. Methods On a single occasion, 50 patients with UCC (mean age, 61 years; 82% women) and 23 subjectively healthy controls (mean age, 58.

Here, we quantify 1293 blood plasma proteins from 157 longitudinally linked plasma samples collected before, during, and after hyperacute HIV-1 infection of 54 participants from four sub-Saharan African countries. Six distinct longitudinal expression profiles are identified, of which four demonstrate a consistent decrease in protein levels following HIV-1 infection.
