This paper reviews the literature of the past seven years concerning adolescent pregnancy. Social and motivational factors leading to pregnancy are discussed and weighed. Obstetric aspects of adolescent pregnancy are reviewed as well as the repercussions of this event.

The carnival, stage or masquerade ball are the only situations where a male is tolerated in assuming the femal role, or vice-versa in Western Society. The transsexual, finding it impossible to maintain his or her self-esteem, is given the opportunity to resolve a profound dilemma via this new medical procedure of six reassignment. Endocrine therapy and conversion surgery raise medicolegal issues illustrative of the difference in perspective between medicine and the law.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFUsing personality measures, the author examined Physician's Associate Program applicants at the Duke University School of Medicine, comparing male and female applicants and the outcome for these applicants in terms of acceptance into paramedical training. The perecentage of women accepted into training was similar to the percentage who applied for training. However, women invited for interview were more aggressive, autonomous, impulsive, playful, and flexible than the males invited to interview, suggesting self-selection by women in applying for paramedical training.
