Psychometric properties of the Czech Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale: reliability and content validity analysis.

Background: Outcome measurement is an essential part of the evaluation of palliative care and the measurements need to be reliable, valid and adapted to the culture in which they are used. The Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale (IPOS) is a widely used tool for assessing personal-level outcomes in palliative care. The aim of this study was to provide Czech version of IPOS and assess its psychometric properties.

[Dynamics of the incidence of coccidiosis in chickens in relation to the level of anticoccidial care].

The incidence of coccidiosis was evaluated in pullets and broilers raised in large--scale conditions. We confirmed a relationship between the extensity and intensity of coccidium incidence on the one hand and the content of anticoccidic drugs in feed mixtures and the husbandry standard on poultry farms on the other. We studied the causes of failure of the efficiency of the anticoccidic drug Amprol Plus after a short time of its administration to the fowl and we demonstrated a resistant strain of the field isolate of Eimeria tenella in connection with low doses of this anticoccidic drug in feed mixtures.

[Influence of the migration of Ascaris suum larvae on blood parameters in the pig].

Biochemical and hematological blood parameters were investigated in pigs experimentally infected with Ascaris suum. The most marked changes were recorded on day 5-8 post inoculation, during fever. In this period there was a marked decrease of concentrations of albumin, iron, thyroxin, A and E vitamins in blood serum, while compared with the control group the contents of A vitamin in liver did not change.
