Pediatric firearm violence is the number one cause of death in all children and a threat that must be addressed. Applying a harm reduction framework to this growing crisis recognizes that firearms exist and incorporates evidence-based practice actionable strategies for pediatric-focused Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to follow to address this public health crisis. This harm reduction framework encompasses several strategies, including an understanding of the physical and mental health care impact that pediatric firearm violence has on survivors, as well as recognizing the inherent health inequities associated with it.

From silos to synergy: a consortium approach to air pollution and public health in Abu Dhabi.

Financial resources alone cannot guarantee effective public health policy. In Abu Dhabi, massive economic growth in the desert climate resulted in concentrated urbanization and led to challenges in the regulation of air pollution. The Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi commissioned us to scope the regulatory challenges for air pollution.

Telerehabilitation for New Wheelchair Evaluations: A Retrospective Study of Patient Characteristics.

The purpose of this paper was to describe the clinical and personal factors of persons with disabilities (PwD) seeking a new wheelchair evaluation via telerehabilitation compared to in-person appointments. This retrospective cohort analysis used the Functional Mobility Assessment and Uniform Dataset, which is a nationwide registry with ongoing enrollment at 31 clinical sites of PwD seeking a new wheelchair evaluation. PwD were stratified into either a Telerehabilitation Group or In-Person Group.

Several studies have estimated how national-level policies of electric vehicle (EV) adoption might bring very large environmental and public health benefits from improved air quality to China. However, large-scale adoption is very costly, some regions derive more benefits from large-scale EV adoption than others, and the benefits of replacing internal combustion engines in specific cities are less known.
