Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive type of breast cancer. While most TNBCs are initially sensitive to chemotherapy, a substantial fraction acquires resistance to treatments and progresses to more advanced stages. Here, we identify the spliceosome U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle (snRNP) complex as a modulator of chemotherapy efficacy in TNBC.

Aim: To assess the correlation of quantitative data of pulmonary Perfused Blood Volume (PBV) on Dual-Energy CT (DECT) datasets in patients with moderate - severe Pulmonary Emphysema (PE) with Lung Perfusion Scintigraphy (LPS) as the reference standard. The secondary endpoints are the correlation between the CT densitometric analysis and the visual assessment of parenchymal destruction with PBV.

Unlabelled: Brunner syndrome is a recessive X-linked disorder characterized by intellectual disability and impulsive aggressiveness associated with monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) deficiency leading to increased monoaminergic activity. We report the presence of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder in a 46-year-old patient with Brunner syndrome due to a c.1438A > G/iVS14-2 A > G mutation of the gene.

DNA is a danger signal sensed by cGAS to engage signaling through STING to activate innate immune functions. The best-studied downstream responses to STING activation include expression of type I interferon and inflammatory genes, but STING also activates other pathways, including apoptosis. Here, we report that STING-dependent induction of apoptosis in macrophages occurs through the intrinsic mitochondrial pathway and is mediated via IRF3 but acts independently of gene transcription.
