Resolution of primary hepatic marginal zone lymphoma in a hepatitis C virus-infected patient treated with a direct-acting antiviral.

The favorable impact of antiviral therapy on low-grade hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related non-Hodgkin lymphoma manifesting as marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) has been reported in some clinical studies. However, primary HCV-related marginal zone lymphomas (MZLs) confined to the liver have not been described in the literature nor have the resolution of liver lymphoma through anti-HCV eradication treatment. The authors report a genotype 1b HCV-positive patient with chronic hepatitis who exhibited lesions involving both hepatic lobes resembling hepatocellular carcinoma.

Endorectal and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI for detection of local recurrence after radical prostatectomy.

Objective: The objective of our study was to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of endorectal MRI combined with dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI to detect local recurrence after radical prostatectomy.

Materials And Methods: A total of 51 patients who had undergone radical prostatectomy for prostatic adenocarcinoma 10 months to 6 years before underwent a combined endorectal coil MRI and dynamic gadolinium-enhanced MRI before endorectal sonographically guided biopsy of the prostatic fossa. The MRI combined with MR dynamic imaging results were correlated with the presence of recurrence defined as a positive biopsy result or reduction in prostate-specific antigen level after radiation therapy.

[Cat scratch pneumonia: a case report].

Pasteurella multocida infections can be caused by scratches or bites of many animals including pets. An unrecognized infection can lead to severe complications such as arthritis, osteomyelitis, respiratory infections and even meningitis or endocarditis. We present the case of a woman affected by soft tissue infection caused by Pasteurella multocida complicated by bacteremia and pneumonia.

[Intra-articular treatment with Hylan G-F 20 under ultrasound guidance in hip osteoarthritis. Clinical results after 12 months follow-up].

Hip is a site very commonly affected by osteoarthritis (OA), yet few data exist in literature regarding intra-articular use of hyaluronic acid in this pathology. We evaluated the efficacy of Hylan G-F 20 hip viscosupplementation performed under ultrasound guidance. We enrolled 26 patients affected by symptomatic hip OA and treated them with a single intraarticular injection of Hylan G-F 20, which could be repeated every two months.

Infective endocarditis from Enterococcus faecalis complicating colonoscopy in Heyde's syndrome.

A case of infective endocarditis from Enterococcus faecalis after colonoscopy in a patient with aortic stenoinsufficiency and bleeding intestinal angiodysplasia (Heyde's syndrome) is reported.A 77 year old man with aortic stenoinsufficiency presented with enterorrhagia and underwent a colonoscopy, which showed normal findings. Fifteen days later he developed a moderate degree of fever.
